Who We Are

Early Days

Established in March of 2022, a team branching off of Community Baptist Church held a church service in the Eddy Elementary Gymnasium for $25. God had bigger intentions with this opportunity which lead us to plant St. Clair Baptist Church as a full operational ministry.

What started as a small group of teenagers praying over an idea resulted in the birth of New Testament church. As we endeavor to life up Jesus in our community, we diligently pray and seek for a facility of our own.

Frequently Asked Questions

You might have questions, and we have some answers!
1Where should I go when I walk in?
As you arrive into the building, one of our hospitality greeters will meet you and direct you to the right classes and services.
2Where do I take my children?
After meeting one of our hospitality greeters, they will direct you to our children’s department located in the 2nd floor of our building.
3Is there something for my teenagers?
Yes, our church is full of the younger generation, and offer a variety of ways your teen can get involved. Check out our Programs page for more information.
4How can I get connected with others?
To really experience St. Clair Baptist Church, you need to check out our Sunday Morning Bible Studies at 10:00am. These classes are smaller group settings where you are invited to meet people, enjoy perhaps some coffee and refreshments, and hear a teaching lesson more directly applicable to your life-stage.
5What should I wear?
There is not a dress code at St. Clair Baptist for members or guests. Our ministry leaders and many of our church family dress in more traditional “Sunday” dress. However, our main goal is that you would feel welcome and comfortable on your visit here at St. Clair Baptist.
6Am I expected to participate in the offering?
No. We want our service to be a gift to you. We hope you will find in this place a warm family spirit, truth from God’s Word, and a place where you can grow in God’s grace. Please don’t feel any obligation to participate in the offering.
7How long are the services?
Our services are typically a little over one hour in length.
8Are your services livestreamed?
Yes, each service is streamed live on Facebook. https://www.facebook.com/gbcstclair
9What does your church believe?
Our purpose and beliefs are important to us. We will gladly share our doctrine with you before/after service.
10Why are you located in an Episcopal Building?
St. Clair Baptist was founded 3 years ago using the Eddy Elementary’s Gymnasium. We are diligently seeking God’s wisdom in finding a facility or property we can call “home.” We currently lease this facility from the Holy Family Episcopal Church and currently share the facilities with their congregation.

Meet The Pastors

Pastor Kenneth Jones

Pastor Kenneth Jones

Meet Kenneth & Abby Jones

We are grateful for the opportunity to serve at St. Clair Baptist and be a part of what God is doing here.

Kenneth grew up in St. Clair County and has spent most of his life in this community. After attending a Bible seminary near Chicago, IL, he ministered there for several years before God led him back home. With a heart ambitious for the next generation and the spreading of the gospel, his passion is to challenge young people to fulfill the Great Commission—reaching the world for Christ through evangelism, missions, and church planting. He holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Pastoral Theology and a Master’s Degree in Practical Theology. Along with serving as youth pastor, he sings and leads music at the church. When he’s not ministering he enjoys golf, fantasy football, and just about any sport.

Abby grew up in West Virginia in a hardworking family that taught her the importance of kindness and integrity. She now teaches kindergarten at Blue Water Christian Academy and has a deep passion for reaching people with the gospel. Whether serving in the jail ministry, music ministry, or children’s ministry, she has a heart for helping others. She also loves reading, singing, and traveling the world.

Together, we are thankful to be part of this church family and are excited to serve however God leads!
